 The time has come that we say farewell to our fearless leader… and though it’s hard, I can’t help but to reflect on how truly lucky we are to have such an incredible boss that makes this goodbye so difficult…  

Ashley, thank you for all the dad jokes that were somehow both terrible and perfect, always humoring my lame themed parties and introducing me to puff pastry smores.   Thank you for your leadership, your trust, and for helping me find my confidence again. You hired me when I was six months pregnant, supported me through maternity leave, and have continued to champion me as a working mom of three. You never make me feel guilty for the moments I needed to show up for my family, and I can’t put into words how much that has meant.  

Being part of your team has healed parts of me I didn’t even realize needed healing. Before coming to the County, I honestly thought I was done with HR, that maybe it wasn’t the right path for me anymore. Thank you for proving me wrong, and for showing me what the right environment, the right culture, and the right leader can do.  

One thing I will always admire about you is how fiercely you protect and advocate for your team. In HR, we spend so much of our time protecting others… but who protects us? You do!  I hope your new team knows how lucky they are to be getting you.  

Wishing you nothing but success, joy, and fulfillment in this next chapter. You deserve every bit of it. I can’t wait to see how many more lives you change in your continuing journey. ❤️
